This script was the hardest for me to write. At 240 pages, it translates into 4 hours of film. This story is the brainchild of David Franklyn (a very interesting enigma of a guy) who dreamed about it since he was young. Where else can you find a story of a young American hero up against Leon Trotsky and his cohort of communist spies and a German submarine, both trying to sink a ship in Halifax harbor in World War One. No where but here.
This story is based on the true story of the Mont Blanc and the phenomenal amount of explosives it had on board, which caused the largest non-nuclear man-made explosion in history.
Not all stories end successfully or with a bang. (Sorry for that one.) But our hero does find the girl before he dies. Okay he was pushing a hundred when he did. But you'll be guaranteed to cry before it's all over.
This is one of those stories that is "too true" to be believed.
It will take a lot to get this film made. Consider this one a long shot for now.
