This one took me a long time to write. It has a mystical quality to it. Young boy meets old Indian on last vision quest. They hit it off and Old Indian passes on ancient knowledge to young boy who learns to respect nature. In fact he gets a new point of the world.
The last line in the movie is "You can only save the world one mountain at a time."
Okay, okay, I guess you will have to see the movie to totally understand that line.
I spent many years in the woods. My longest solo trip was two months in the mountains at the start of the Alaskan Highway. I learned respect let me tell you.
To be honest I went out there with the intention of never coming back out. I was doing the survival hermit thing, when I lost my tent poles.
You'lI have to forgive me I was only twenty-one at the time.
I don't use a tent any more unless I'm with my family.
I have learned a great respect for nature and what better way to tell about my experiences by telling it in a coming of age story.
