Peace In A Sound Chamber by: Triz Remedios
How can we imagine traveling a line of existence to other planets, communicating with other beings without judgment or mistrust, if we cannot do these things within our own planet, neighborhood, family, or within ourselves? We must first embody trust, or truly love and accept ourselves, and then our experiences will unfold in a most auspicious way. It is within the chambers of peace and sound that the journey begins, and where it reaches … is anyone’s dream. The most interesting things happen when you least expect them. The Peruvian Whistling Vessels are probably one of the most extraordinary transformational tools I have ever encountered. Who could tell by looking at these ceramic whistles that they have the power to change your life by merely blowing into them? Isn’t it amazing how simple things in life can bring about the most profound experiences? These powerful tools came into my life with the help of a friend. The first experience with the vessels was astounding as I reached a euphoric feeling after having blown these vessels for less than half an hour. We were chatting and blowing and then chatting some more. The conversation covered topics as to the purpose of these vessels, what to do with these things, and how we could share them. When I left my friend’s place to go home I became aware of how high I was. My feet barely touched the ground and my head was in the clouds. The next day was smooth, we continued our conversation as if it had never ended, and so began the journey with the Peruvian Whistling Vessels. The Peruvian Whistling Vessels now reside at my home and together with my gong, drums and crystal bowls, we beguile groups and individuals to sessions of sonic transformation. People come to blow … to experience the Sound Work … to center and to clear the path … finding their true selves. It is a form of meditation that touches and changes people’s lives forever. The vessels have the unique ability to quickly bring an individual to the place of silence, nothingness, and from there the emotional body quiets. This balancing frees the person to glimpse life from a different perspective and from that perspective have available to them the vast opportunity of choices and the freedom to see and choose from what lies before them. Often, during a session dreams or visions will arise, or some will come up with solutions to just everyday problems. With emotions subsided, creativity opens to a distinct internal environment and the mind is freed to explore various avenues of thought. The vessels are experiential in nature. One has to bask in the sound, blow the whistles to experience the transformation, which words cannot fully describe. Each person has their own journey yet there are some common themes that have arisen. The most common comments are: there is wind that is felt blowing through the mind; a scrubbing feeling that the tones seem to produce; weird voicing inside the head that stops when you stop blowing; and the silence that is felt at the end of a session. After an hour or so of blowing, a group of strangers will sit in silence for a while and when they begin to talk and share some food, they open up to each other as if they were the closest of friends. There is a trust and acceptance of each person in the group that is overwhelmingly present. To say that there is love in the air may sound pat or superficial but trust and acceptance are two vital components of love. Trust and acceptance is not only felt for individuals in the group but also felt within each person for him- or herself. It is this feeling that allows people to make the changes necessary to live more in line with who they are. Sometimes these changes can be difficult and filled with turmoil, yet the vessels create a space for the changes to take place without judgment or fear. There are an overwhelming percentage of people who have made their changes after spending some time with the vessels. In fact most of those who come regularly to blow have made considerable changes in their lives since their first experience with the vessels. The newfound space is oddly familiar, accepted and acceptable - no questions asked. The vessels create this safe environment. No words needed. No analysis required, simply a quieter, peaceful, stronger place to move and live from which to move and live. Other prevailing comments about the experience have been the sense that we are all one and a feeling that we could almost hear each other’s thoughts and feelings. This shared space brings about closeness in people that borders on telepathy. The thoughts or feelings are those we feel in the deepest part of our hearts. It is the ones that express who we are as opposed to what we think. Because we are in a place of non-judgment the comfort of feeling each other and hearing each other is overwhelming. Euphoria is often felt and there are times when a group will seemingly degenerate into silliness and laughter. What wonderful medicine for everyone! This euphoria is taken with each person to spread into his or her own corner of the world. Imagine a world where the familiar is love, trust, acceptance, communication with ease, expression without judgment, and feelings of euphoria. Imagine knowing the person next to you is the same as you are, filled with purpose and being the best that they can be. Imagine thinking a thought and sending it around the world knowing that it will be received without misunderstanding. This is the beginning of the journey with the Peruvian Whistling Vessels. The vessels have the extraordinary ability to open the doors to the unimaginable, to let us see and touch the places that are not in the ordinary world. It holds the key to other dimensions and to the visionary world that can only be entered by releasing our hold on the conscious, analytical mind. The vessels free our minds of the barriers that keep us tied to this reality and lets us journey into other worlds and existences. It is a way of experiencing other dimensions without the use of chemicals and of touching places that we only visit in dreams.
